PSM Makassar are set to take on Dewa United Banten FC in Week 12 of the BRI Super League 2025/26, with the match scheduled at Banten International Stadium on Sunday afternoon (November 9). In terms of preparation time, PSM appear to have a slight edge, having had more days to recover before the clash.
Dewa United are currently navigating a busy period. After competing in an international tournament, the Banten Warriors faced Borneo FC Samarinda in their Week 11 fixture just last Wednesday. However, PSM’s head coach Tomas Trucha doesn’t see this as a clear advantage for his team.
“I don’t think it’s a big advantage. The main point is not about our fitness being better than theirs. Sometimes players actually prefer playing every four days. It keeps the rhythm and intensity. They’ve had enough recovery time during those four days,” explained Trucha.
According to the Czech coach, Dewa United have likely prepared a strategy to maintain player fitness despite their tight schedule. One possible approach is squad rotation, giving fresh players the opportunity to step up and make an impact.
“That could make a difference. Players who haven’t played much will give everything on the pitch to prove they deserve more chances in important home matches,” added Trucha.
He also emphasized that Dewa United’s experience and professionalism will help them manage their recovery effectively. “They are Dewa United — they know how to maximize their recovery period even with only a four-day gap between games. That could be a factor in the match, but not necessarily the decisive one,” Trucha concluded.
