  • Persijap End Losing Streak as Malut United Remain Grounded at the Top of the Super League

Matchweek 15 of the 2025/26 Super League delivered two contrasting narratives. Persijap Jepara finally brought an end to a long losing streak, while Malut United FC continued to consolidate their position near the top of the table without rushing into title discussions.

Persijap Jepara Stop an Eight-Match Losing Run

Persijap Jepara finally recorded a positive result after a difficult period. Playing at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium, Persijap held PSIM Yogyakarta to a 1–1 draw, a result that ended their run of eight consecutive defeats in the 2025/26 Super League.

Laskar Kalinyamat were even on the verge of securing all three points after taking the lead in the 51st minute through Adzikry Fadlillah. At that stage, Persijap showed improved discipline and intensity, applying pressure more effectively than in previous matches.

However, their advantage disappeared deep into stoppage time. PSIM equalized in the 90+5 minute through Riyatno Abiyoso, forcing Persijap to settle for a single point at home.

Divaldo Alves Sees Signs of a Turning Point

Despite missing out on victory, Persijap head coach Divaldo Alves viewed the draw as an important step toward rebuilding the team’s confidence. He praised the players’ fighting spirit, noting their aggressive and committed approach from the opening minutes.

Divaldo also highlighted that his team created several clear chances, particularly in the first half. He singled out Sudi Abdallah for his strong performance and ability to trouble PSIM’s defense. According to the Portuguese coach, improving finishing remains a key area for further development.

Alves stressed that this result should serve as the foundation for Persijap’s resurgence. While the additional point has not yet lifted them away from the lower end of the table, it represents a psychological breakthrough after a prolonged negative spell.

Malut United Maintain Consistency, Avoid Title Talk

Meanwhile, Malut United FC continued to demonstrate their consistency near the top of the 2025/26 Super League standings. A narrow 1–0 victory over PSM Makassar at BJ Habibie Stadium underlined the maturity of Laskar Kie Raha in handling high-pressure matches.

An early goal from David da Silva in the second minute proved decisive. From that point on, Malut United remained organized and disciplined, successfully managing the game despite sustained pressing from PSM Makassar.

Hendri Susilo Emphasizes Process Over Standings

Malut United head coach Hendri Susilo chose to remain cautious despite his team’s strong league position. He emphasized that the squad’s primary focus is maintaining consistent performances from one match to the next, rather than discussing championship ambitions too early.

Hendri noted that the Super League season is still long and demanding. He credited the win over PSM to collective effort and the team’s ability to cope with pressure by effectively moving the ball behind the opponent’s defensive line.

The next challenge comes when Malut United host league leaders Borneo FC Samarinda, a fixture seen as a crucial test of their ability to sustain form into the second half of the season.

Two Different Paths in the Super League Race

Persijap Jepara and Malut United FC are currently navigating very different phases of the competition. Persijap are focused on rebuilding confidence and escaping the pressures of the lower table, while Malut United aim to preserve consistency without losing focus amid intense competition at the top.

How both teams progress in the coming weeks will offer valuable insight into their mental resilience and game management throughout the 2025/26 Super League season.
